Wear Art from Plants

Sedona Plant Prints

For over 40 years, I have lived in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. Massive red rocks look down onto our garden, which, for millennia, the Sinagua and other indigenous people called home. I deeply love, have learned from, and have harvested from this beautiful place on Earth.

In Sedona Plant Prints I try to share this beauty of plants and colors through photos and stories - and scarves!

Over the last years, I have learned about another powerful gift many plants have offered throughout centuries, about which most of us are unaware - their gifts of color for textiles. A Native American artist, Roy Kady (Diné), introduced me to the method of transferring these colors onto fabric. Since then, with great reverence and awe, I have experimented with different plants, different methods, and different fabrics. In the SHOP on this website you can buy some of my latest projects: some of our plants printed and dyed on silk scarves. Each scarf is unique, like an original painting by plants!

Wear Art from Plants - and help support several local organizations that I admire because their vision, perspective, and activities demonstrate their concern. They work for the future of our Earth. I donate 25% of what you pay for a scarf to them. Even if you don’t buy a scarf, find out about their activities, and keep them in mind for your contributions.
